Trying to find the answer...

Trying to find the answer is especially difficult when you don't know the right question to ask. It get so many emails and read so many blogs by people that claim to have the answer for everything but for a price they will answer it for you. I guess today, I'm a little cynical. How can they answer me, if they don't know the question? Things like this roll through my head as I search LinkedIn, GoodReads and other sites hoping someone would ask the right question so I can find the right answer. Am I rambling, not really, I just don't need these kind of people that know it all for a price.

Talk back, I'm listening on both blog sites at http://booksbyagmoye.blogspot.com and at http://lightningbooksbyagmoye.wordpress.com just drop by and chat or follow me. You might have the right question in your comments that I'm looking for.

Daughters Of the sea series #4- updated Link added

Hearken ( Daughters Of the Sea #4 )
Now Available!
7/22/14

When the evil you fear is born from within, who will save us…from ourselves?
Sometimes our souls hear what our minds and hearts refuse to accept. It will whisper its continuous cadence until we're strong enough to glimpse the truth. But when the soul's whispers morph into screams, we're forced to gaze into the mirrors of time and see ourselves for who we really are.
Grappling with her newfound leadership position, Stasia begins to experience a recurring nightmare of murder, as well as curious reveries about a violet-eyed girl who can control the moon. When tragedy grips the Tydes and several important relics are stolen from the Sons of Daimon, Stasia’s Council leaves for the forgotten island of Atlantis. Unfortunately Atlantis harbors its own secrets, and they are all calling to Stasia. As her nightmares become worse and she begins to lose control of her mind, those around her must find a way to reach her…and fast.
Olivia Campbell is used to getting what she wants, when she wants it. But destiny never asked Olivia what she wanted. Being Chosen to be a Paladin at birth had not been something she wanted, and she definitely hadn’t wanted her charge to be Anastasia. Unfortunately their irritatingly persistent Atlantean guide, Sebastian, seems to know all about her and the secrets she’s been hiding. As she fights to protect Stasia from an unknown force, Olivia’s own courage and loyalty will be tested in ways she never imagined. Will she be able to tell Stasia the truth before it’s too late for them both.Hearken ( Daughters Of the Sea #4 )

About Kristen Day

I am a southern belle at heart with a crazy streak that desperately tries to escape at every opportunity. I love all things nostalgic, rustic, and quirky. I've been told I see the world through rose-colored glasses, but I prefer to think of them as kaleidoscope glasses - swirling and morphing reality into something I can digest (who hasn't pretended those pasty lima beans were really kiwi strawberry jelly beans?).
When I'm not writing I'm making jewelry, painting, drinking sweet tea, watching the discovery channel, or going on random adventures in the mountains of North Carolina with my amazing husband.

Off the EAGLE'S Claws-my review

My review of Temba Magorimbo's book, Off The Eagles Claw. A copy was furnished to me by the author for my honest review. I gave it four out of five stars on Amazon. The only problem I really had with the book was when the author used some local dialog (Slang) but I was able to understand what was being said. This is a story that starts out in a war (Rhodesia war of Independence) now Zimbabwe. It follows two characters (Jack and Mark) through the war and their lives after the war. Fighting on the losing side was not easy after the war was ended. One became a bush tour pilot and the other the manager of tour lodges. Finding love and happiness was difficult at best. Take a look at the book and see if you like it. Switching of POV's might cause you to lose something in the story but not me. Here is the link on Amazon.

I could not find a picture or much information on Temba just that he was born in Rhodesia now Zambabwe and has wrote a couple of other books.  If you like love story type of books, check this one out. He has both ebook and paperback versions of the book.

Post office-going into history

The Post Office in America is steadily headed into history. For most small towns it is already there. With email and other electric media taking the place of written words in form of letters, the need for local post offices is no more. This Iconic symbol used to be a sign that a separate small community existed. Already most small post offices have closed. When I received a letter that our local post office would either close or go on reduced hours, the hand writing on the wall is that it will disappear in the near future. With schools no longer teaching cursive writing, the need for the offices is passing into history. Remember the old letters found in the attic when your grandparents passed away? Reading their words of love, or of events occurring while they were separated, gave you an idea of their life and love. Something that is not in your history books. Now, with everything electronic, there will be none of these old memento items to uncover. I suppose in a hundred years a writer can get copies of the electronic media that the government has, of all electronic communications. Writers like to research and this will be the way of the future, researching our current times to get their books historically accurate. I suppose you could get the true feelings of those electronic records by listening to their tone, but nothing compares to reading letters from the past, since they have to be more descriptive so the reader will know what they are feeling. Just my thoughts on the subject of our ever changing world. Talk back, I'm listening

Ps: add comments of your thoughts on this ever changing world. I have already noticed that younger people no longer know how to carry on a conversation unless it is a text message. Have you noticed it ?

How Children Learn- my review

By Jason Stanley PHD. My review of his book designed for teachers and other education administrators. In my humble opinion, Jason put together a very informative book for teachers promoting the concept of Brain Based Learning and Teaching. Using examples, he goes through the steps of comparing normal teaching to use of the brain based learning and teaching. Since this is my first review of a manual for teachers, I'm a little unsure of what I can say not being a teacher of education administrator myself. It appears to have a intelligent chronological flow comparing current practices with what would be gained using this new teaching method. Jason provided me with a PDF file for my honest review. He does not provide the exact details of the Brain Based Learning and Teaching, for this you have to purchase another of his books. This one just compares his BBL and T to current teaching methods and the results when it was used in the classroom. Take a look at it at this link: http://www.amazon.com/Super-Teachers-Inside-Look-Learn-ebook/dp/B00GQ75N7G/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1404669978&sr=1-1-fkmr0&keywords=how+children+learn+by+Jason+Stanley

Image of Jason Stanley Jason Stanley is a southerner at heart... grew up in Southern California, raced cars in Texas, lived and worked as an educator in Southern Vietnam, now lives in Southern Thailand with the love of his life celebrating a delightful marriage that began "when we were just kids".
With a career as an administrator in schools and teaching he developed an expertise in the education theory and classroom use of Brain Based Learning and Teaching (ABBLAT) as the head principal of Asia Pacific College (APC), an international K-12 school system in Southern Vietnam. While with APC he administered nine campuses in five cities that included a staff of several hundred of teachers.
He is the author of the Super Teacher Series that is focused on bringing easy and effective methods of brain based learning to the classroom. These books are used in universities as teaching text books.

It's about me?

Most blog writers want to write about something that will catch your attention and lead you to their books. Since I am in the process of re-editing my books and have not published anything new for awhile. I am avoiding talking about my work and concentrating on talking about other's work. I have been reading their work, then writing nothing but reviews. I don't even put  a link to my work. I am finding I enjoy getting the word out about these other writers and their books. Hopefully, they will appreciate my efforts and it will pay off for them. Hopefully, you enjoyed reading each of their reviews and it made you go out and talk about them to others, especially readers. All authors need the word of mouth to become known then maybe a big review service will review them allowing them to become world famous.  What have you done lately for someone else? Talk back, I'm listening!!!!!
